Design planning practical research of the Power Hood

Snow Storm Sparks Idea for Power Operated Semi Truck Accessory Hood Opener

The Birth of the First Automatic Hood Opener
The need for a power operated hood opener for class 8 "Big Rig Trucks" was realized when Inventor Ed Peterson pulled into Big Cabin OK truck stop during a winter snow storm.
While refueling Ed noticed drivers fighting to raise their hood against a freezing
north wind slipping on the frozen pavement, some were lady truck owner operators
and fleet drivers unable to get the heavy hoods open.
Ed went home to his shop 9 miles east on “Old Historic Route 66” and started
right to work on what is now known as the Peterson Power Hood a semi truck
accessory designed with safety as the first priority. Ed is no stranger to the
US patent office having several patents mostly in the safety and mobility field.
With the loan of a used semi truck and several months of design planning practical research and testing, Ed was able to perfect the Original Peterson Power Hood Opener.
The first semi truck accessory to open the "Big Rig Truck" hoods with the flip of a switch.
60% of injuries involving lost time by semi tractor trailer drivers are from strains
or sprains .
35% of Workmans comp insurance claims are a result of slipping and falling.
Much of this can be eliminated by installing a Peterson Power Hood.
